Due to a recent article by Dispatch on Kim Jung Hyun’s drama “Time,” Kim Jung Hyun and Seo Ye Ji have been engulfed in controversy.
In 2018, Kim Jung Hyun was mocked for his actions at a press conference for MBC’s “Time,” a drama in which he co-starred with Seohyun from Girls’ Generation.
On April 12, Dispatch published a report comparing the original draft of the drama to the version that was aired, revealing that 13 scenes involving physical interaction with the main characters were altered or deleted. Kim Jung Hyun had been getting orders to do so from Seo Ye Ji, his girlfriend at the time, while shooting the drama, according to the media outlet.
According to Dispatch, they obtained information about Kim Jung Hyun’s activities three years ago and were able to obtain text messages between Kim Jung Hyun and Seo Ye Ji. Following the latest controversy involving Kim Jung Hyun, Dispatch verified the messages’ validity using a variety of outlets and determined that they were real.
One of Seo Ye Ji and Kim Jung Hyun’s discussions went like this:
In the original script for “Time,” Seohyun picks up an inebriated Kim Jung Hyun from his apartment building’s corridor, transports him inside, and places him on the couch. Seohyun clearly advises him to get up from afar in the broadcasted version, and the scene ends in the corridor.
During the teaser shoot for the drama in June 2018, the following dialogue apparently happened.
“He kept calling for changes in the script on set,” a staff member on set at the time revealed. He emphasized the value of platonic love and requested that all physical touch be avoided. He would sprint outside and start gagging if things didn’t go his way.”
According to Dispatch, the staff was initially concerned about Kim Jung Hyun, but they became skeptical when he was observed constantly staring at his phone.
Another chat shows Kim Jung Hyun sending videos of the set situation to Seo Ye Ji.
Seo Ye Ji demanded that he give her video and audio on a regular basis. On set, Kim Jung Hyun secretly recorded videos with the camera pointed at the deck.
On set, Kim Jung Hyun was continually requesting script changes and sending updates to Seo Ye Ji.
Seo Ye Ji did not attend the press conference for her upcoming film “Recalled” on April 13 as reported by Dispatch. Furthermore, there were reports that the actress’ educational record was exaggerated, as well as that she was a victim of school abuse.
In response to the allegations, Seo Ye Ji’s agency issued the following statement on April 13:
