Girl group Black Swan will be making a comeback in late August, with the addition of a new member.
“After issuing a global online audition notice lately, approximately 4,000 applications have gathered,” the agency DR Music said on June 29th. DR Music intends to fly the finalist candidates from the initial audition to South Korea and put them through rigorous training.
After former member Hyeme was accused of fraud, Black Swan suspended their activities after their debut last year. Soon after the controversy, Hyemi announced her retirement from the industry and departed the squad.
Until now, Black Swan’s domestic travel YouTube series, ‘B’LIT,’ has been their main source of exposure. The participants visited a total of four cities, Gwangju, Gyeongju, Suwon, and Hongseong, for the first season of the content, which was co-produced by the Belgian Cultural Center and the Brazilian Cultural Center in Korea. Currently, Black Swan’s official channel has around 400,000 members, with 90% of them being international admirers.
