Cha Eun Woo may have a new drama series in the works!
On March 2, an industry source announced that the ASTRO member will appear in OCN’s upcoming drama “Island” (working title).
“Cha Eun Woo is positively evaluating the bid to appear in ‘Island,’” his agency Fantagio replied.
“Island” is a fantasy exorcism drama based on the same-named webtoon. It will track Pan, who is searching for a wife to end his cursed everlasting life, and Won Mi Ho, the daughter of a prosperous family who is being hunted by goblins. Exorcist priest John, who is consumed with remorse for not being able to help one child, joins them. The three characters who are impossible to get together will unite their courage to defend each other on the island that, beyond its charm, has an evil darkness.
Kang Chan Hyuk, also known as John, will be played by Cha Eun Woo. He’s a cool exorcist priest who grew up in the United States and has watched Korean dramas to keep his mother tongue fresh in his head. He has a vibrant personality, but he has a grim past.
Kim Nam Gil and Seo Ye Ji are also being considered for the roles of Pan and Won Mi Ho, respectively. Im Siwan was previously reported to be considering in playing John.
The shooting of “Island” will begin this spring, with a release date planned for the second half of the year.
