Rapper IRON Has Passed Away at 29

According to police records, a security guard at the Jung-go, Seoul apartment complex found him unconscious and bleeding on a flower bed at 10:25 a.m. on January 25 KST. Then he was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No further detail is available on the cause of death at this time.

Meanwhile, through the Mnet hip-hop survival program ‘Show Me The Money 3,’ Iron first became exposed to the media, where he finished in second place. He released his own music as well as collaborated with a variety of Korean music acts following his success on the show, including Hyolyn, Jooyoung, SHINee’s Jonghyun, AOA’s Jimin, and Kim Bum Soo.

Recently, the police investigated Iron for beating his teenage roommate with a baseball bat. He was also charged in 2016 on suspicion of consuming marijuana, as well as attacking and abusing his former girlfriend in 2018. He was sentenced to two years of probation and 80 hours of community service for the 2018 attack, with the effect of two years of incarceration if the probation was violated.

Actress Song Yu Jung Passes Away

Sublime Artist Agency announced on January 25, “Song Yu Jung passed away on January 23.” The agency failed to confirm information on the cause of her death.

The agency has added a statement about the actress’ death.

“On January 23, 2021, the actress Song Yu Jung ended this life. The funeral was peacefully conducted in accordance with the wishes of her relatives, and the funeral procession will take place on January 25.

Song Yu Jung was a friend of ours who, with her bright smile, always brought us joy, and she was an incredible actress who acted with heated passion.

Please pray that her soul will rest, so that she may rest in peace in a warm place.”

Song Yu Jung debuted as a cosmetics brand model, and started her acting career in 2013 through MBC’s “Golden Rainbow.” “She then appeared in “Make Your Wish” from MBC, “School 2017” from KBS2, and “Dear My Name” web drama. She starred in music videos for “Goodbye Road” by iKON, “Friend to Lover” by Standing Egg, and “How Do I” by NIve. In 2019, the actress signed with Sublime Artist Agency.
