Filming for the upcoming action film “Decibel” (literal title) has begun!
Kim Rae Won, Lee Jong Suk, Jung Sang Hoon, Park Byung Eun, Lee Sang Hee, Jo Dal Hwan, and ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo have all been identified as part of the cast. The film, which began filming on April 20, follows a group of people who are trying to stop a sound terrorism attack in the city that is similar to a submarine incident that occurred a year ago.
Kim Rae Won will play a Navy commander tasked with stopping a terrorist attack involving a sound bomb planted in the city’s center. With each appearance, Kim Rae Won has broadened his acting range, as seen in the films “Prison” and “The Most Ordinary Love,” as well as the drama “L.U.C.A.: The Beginning.” Lee Jong Suk will play a Navy captain who is devoted to his submarine’s crew. Lee Jong Suk recently finished his mandatory military service and is expected to star in the sequel to “The Witch.” He’s also in negotiations for his first acting role since his release, in a drama.
Jung Sang Hoon will play a reporter who collaborates with Kim Rae Won’s character to prevent the sound bomb from detonating. He is a civilian, but as a reporter, he observes the military closely and has a soldier’s attitude. Jung Sang Hoon is a versatile actor who has starred in over two decades of films, dramas, and musicals. Park Byung Eun will portray a member of the Defense Security Support Command who is investigating terrorist attacks. Park Byung Eun’s thorough and polished acting was recently showcased in the sci-fi film “Seobok,” which premiered on April 15.
Lee Sang Hee will play the wife of the second-in-command and a senior officer of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit. Lee Sang Hee’s previous roles as a nurse, a librarian, and a lawyer have all included strong acting and full immersion.
Jo Dal Hwan, who has made an impression in every project he’s been a part of, will play a Navy senior officer who, with his positive personality, sets the tone aboard his submarine.
ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo will make his big screen debut as a young but steadfast sailor in the Navy in charge of sonar detection. Over the last few years, he has gradually built up his acting career in dramas such as “My ID Is Gangnam Beauty,” “Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung,” and most recently “True Beauty.”
Hwang In Ho (“Spellbound,” “Monster”) is directing the film. Despite the fact that the terror attack takes place in the heart of the city, the film adds a new dimension to the genre by featuring specialists in the fields of submarines, naval command, and chemical weapons.
